That's kinda correct--Netscape/Mozilla variants are the only browsers
on the Mac that support automatic proxy configuration, which the
library requires for its proxy service. Have you tried another
variant such as Firebird <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firebird/>
or Camino <http://www.mozilla.org/projects/camino/>?
