After posting this question to a Legal Technology list, and checking out
some local sites (including Mail Boxes Etc.!) we settled on a Brother
Intellifax 4750e. I don't remember the price. It's fast, can work as a
back-up copier, and there have been no complaints. The no complaints factor
is important, I think.
