> Hey Fellow Mac Users-
>
> Mark your calendars: the Elk Grove factory tour is now set for
> Friday, November 22nd from 3pm to 5pm. This tour will be exclusive to
> U.C. students, faculty, and staff, so please bring along your U.C.
> ID's for the trip.
>
> The factory is located in Elk Grove, CA near Laguna Blvd and
> Interstate 5. (More detailed directions will be given out in the
> future.) This is a location where Apple manufactures their PowerMac
> G4's, XServes, and iMacs. They also produce build-to-order iBooks and
> PowerBooks. Build-to-order (or CDM -- Customer Driven Manufacturing)
> refers to the cases where customers have specific requirements for
> their computer: hardware modifications, specific software
> requirements, etc. The portables, after shipped from Taiwan, will go
> through the factory if the customer requests for specific changes to
> their product.
>
> Please e-mail ucbmug@ucbmug.org if you wish to attend the trip. Since
> there are a limited number of spots, please only sign up if you are
> sure that you will be able to attend. Also, please check the UCBMUG
> site for further information regarding the trip as further details
> become available (www.ucbmug.org). Lastly, please include in your
> e-mail if you will be needing a ride or if you will be able to provide
> rides to others (rather, how many seatbelts you have).
>
> Please let me know if you have any more questions,
