In Word, check under Tools/Preferences/Save to make sure that the
Allow Fast Saves feature is NOT checked.
Also, it is a good idea to not have Word open when using Eudora or a
web browser. That can affect performance such as keystroke response.
I can't think of any other reasons for the problem. Not sure about
the restart problem.
