1) Have you applied all the updates (firmware and otherwise)
suggested by the software update control panel?
2) Is virtual memory turned on? How high above real ram is it set?
3) How much physical memory does the machine think it has? (This may
be very different from the amount you think it does--one of the
firmware updates has been known to disable some RAM in certain
circumstances....)
