Hello:
One of our faculty has a beige G3 running 8.5 and recently bought an Epson 740 printer for it. Previously, she was using a Personal Laserwriter NT on it, but that was giving her problems, so she bought the Epson. She was using an Apple LocalTalk Locking Connector Kit Din 8 on it to connect the printer and tried using it on the Epson via the serial port. The Epson started acting up, and would not print anything except one string of characters and numbers and pull up another black sheet to print the same thing (and will do so until there is no more paper).
My question is: Is the Locking Connecting Kit the culprit? Don't ask me why she didn't have a regular printer cable, but that's what we plan to purchase next for her. But has anyone else heard of this happening with this computer or printer?
Thanks.
eric
