In CalAgenda, a group is a number of users (and/or resources) that may be addressed as if it were one. A good example would be the staff, the faculty or everyone in a department. You can create groups containing people and/or resources that you regularly schedule.
Groups are categorized as follows:
[PUB]: The group is public and can be used by any person on the system
[PRV]: The group is private and can only be used or edited by its creator
[ADM]: The group can only be used or edited by those people who have been granted administrative rights
[MEM]: The group is members-only and can only be used by its members and edited by its owner
A group can be created off the Oracle Calendar menu by selecting Tools, Manage Groups. From the Manage Groups dialog box, click New, then enter a name of the group in the Name field; select a group type from the Type list. Enter the name of a user, group or resource in the Add field and click the Checkmark button. Resources must be preceded by r:, re:, or res:. Groups must be preceded by g:, gr: or grp:. If you do not know the name of a user, group or resource, click the Search button to find it and add it to the list.
The Group View enables you to view the daily schedules of several people and/or resources at one time. Use the Group View to quickly find a suitable meeting time based on the schedules of the invitees and availability of resources. From the File menu in Oracle Calendar, select Agenda, Open Group. View.
